£200k Lamborghini Towed in Kensington for Illegal Parking Violation

Published on

A high-value Lamborghini Urus S, valued at more than £200,000, was removed from a Kensington street as part of an enforcement action against illegal parking by luxury vehicle owners.

Details of the Towing Incident

The all-black supercar was lifted onto a low-loader and towed away from Derry Street in Kensington around 4 p.m. A Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for £160 had been placed on the windshield for the parking violation. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) council handled the removal, with the vehicle likely transported to the Lots Road car pound.

RBKC’s Vehicle Removal Policy

Under RBKC’s official policy, authorities prioritize the removal of vehicles from persistent evaders—those accumulating three or more unpaid tickets within 15 minutes of a new violation. For non-persistent cases, towing occurs after 30 minutes from the issuance of a PCN in a restricted bay.

Ongoing Enforcement Against Luxury Cars

Local councils, including RBKC, continue to address challenges posed by owners of high-end vehicles parking unlawfully. In neighboring Westminster, officials noted that fines alone have failed to deter some drivers, leading to direct vehicle removals in recent months.

RBKC introduced noise-detecting cameras in 2020 following resident complaints about excessive engine revving from Lamborghinis, McLarens, and motorcycles late at night. These measures aim to maintain order in residential areas amid rising concerns over inconsiderate driving and parking.
