San Francisco 49ers stars Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle honored their country with a stirring rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner before teeing off on a California golf course.
Patriotic Display During Offseason Fun
McCaffrey and Kittle, joined by their wives Olivia Culpo and Claire Kittle, attended the Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio over the weekend. They savored NFL offseason relaxation before hitting the links on Sunday with teammate Jake Tonges and country artists Chase Rice and Shay Mooney.
In a video posted on Instagram by Culpo, the five men stood in a row, caps removed and hands over hearts, belting out the national anthem. Culpo captioned the clip: ‘Not sure whose idea this was, but they committed lol…’
Fans erupted in praise online. One X user declared, ‘Nailed it!’ Another shared, ‘Love this!’ Instagram reactions included, ‘You know what, they didn’t sound bad,’ and ‘I love this team.’
Culpo also posted a selfie of her and Claire Kittle riding a golf cart with their husbands at the festival, held at Indio’s Empire Polo Club.
Injury Challenges Ahead of 2026 Season
McCaffrey, Kittle, and Tonges have nearly three months before the 49ers’ summer training camp launches for the 2026 campaign. Kittle faces a tough road, however, after tearing his Achilles in the NFC Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles in January.
This injury adds to the 49ers’ string of setbacks in recent years, sparking unusual theories. Researcher Peter Cowan, a board-certified quantum biology practitioner, links the issues to chronic exposure from low-frequency electromagnetic fields near the team’s stadium and practice facility substation.
Cowan’s idea gained traction on X, especially after Kittle’s injury. 49ers general manager John Lynch confirmed the team reviewed it. ‘Because it deals with, allegedly, the health and safety of our players, you have to look into everything,’ Lynch stated during a press conference with head coach Kyle Shanahan. ‘Our guys have been, we’ve been reaching out to anyone and everyone to see if a study does exist. We will look into it, we have.’
McCaffrey and Tonges featured in the Divisional Round playoff defeat to the Seattle Seahawks, who later claimed Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots.
