Westland Whiskey, an award-winning distillery out of Washington state, was the sufferer of a heist over the summer season, with thieves making off with over 12,000 bottles of inventory. In response to the experiences, a number of the whiskey that was stolen within the scheme included a limited-edition whiskey that took the model over a decade to create.

Over the weekend, the Related Press shared particulars of the Westland Whiskey heist, which befell on July 31 after a freight truck appeared on the Burlington warehouse for the distillery to make a haul meant for New Jersey. The cargo included a single malt expression, a Watchpost blended choice, and the uncommon Garryana expression.

The Skagit Valley Sheriff’s Workplace in Mount Vernon, Wash. is investigating the matter to see if the whiskies will seem on the secondary or black market. Secondary gross sales of coveted bottles have been in vogue for years as whiskey collectors and aficionados hunt down hard-to-find bottles.

Jason Moore, the managing director on the distillery, says that the misplaced Garryana bottles are irreplaceable, with solely 7,500 bottles produced. 3,500 of the Garryana was stolen in the summertime heist. Nevertheless, Westland Whiskey is treating this as a bump within the highway whereas promising to recuperate from the loss.

“What occurs from there’s outdoors of our management, and we get enthusiastic about sharing our whiskey and fascinating with the supporters we now have,” Moore shared within the report. “That is an especially uncommon factor, and whereas it’s a setback, we’re assured that we’re going to get to share this whiskey.
