Stephen A. Smith will not be ruling out getting into politics on the highest stage. In a latest interview with ABC’s Linsey Davis, the longtime sports activities analyst revealed he’s severely contemplating a 2028 presidential run after receiving encouragement from influential figures.

“I’m contemplating it in all seriousness, as a result of I’ve had very, very severe individuals strategy me about it,” Smith stated.

He went on to elucidate the scope of these conversations, including, “I’ve no alternative. I’ve had elected officers coming as much as me… of us who’re pundits come as much as me. I’ve had of us that obtained some huge cash, billionaires and others which have talked to me about exploratory committees.”

Whereas Smith has not introduced any formal plans, his feedback counsel the thought is greater than hypothetical as he weighs his choices forward of the following election cycle.
