In a surprising turn during a heavyweight boxing match on Saturday night, Jarrell Miller’s wig dislodged after a powerful punch from opponent Kingsley Ibeh.
The Bizarre In-Ring Moment
The incident unfolded in the second round when Ibeh delivered two precise strikes to Miller’s head. Video footage captured the toupee loosening from Miller’s scalp under the impact of the blows, creating an unexpected spectacle amid the intense action.
As the third round began, Miller rose from his corner, playfully stuck out his tongue, and removed the wig entirely before tossing it toward the audience, drawing reactions from spectators.
Miller Secures Victory Despite Distraction
Miller prevailed in the bout, earning a split decision win. One judge favored Ibeh with a 96-94 score, but the other two sided with Miller at 93-97 each.
Miller’s Recent Ring History
The 37-year-old fighter returned to the ring for the first time since his draw against Andy Ruiz Jr. in August of the previous year. Prior to that, Miller suffered a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in December 2023, during the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s victory over Otto Wallin.
Miller’s career has faced setbacks, including a planned 2019 matchup against Joshua that was scrapped due to a six-month suspension for a failed drug test. Another positive test in 2020 led to the cancellation of his fight with Jerry Forrest.
