Statement on Past Correspondence
Casey Wasserman, the entertainment executive leading preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, has expressed deep regret over a series of flirtatious emails exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell more than two decades ago. The messages, which included references to massages, rubbing, and playful suggestions of naked beach activities, surfaced in the latest release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein by the Department of Justice.
In a recent statement, Wasserman addressed the correspondence: “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light.” He emphasized that he maintained no personal or business relationship with Epstein and noted a 2002 humanitarian trip organized by the Clinton Foundation, during which he traveled on Epstein’s plane. “I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them,” Wasserman added.
Details of the Emails
The emails date back to 2003, when Wasserman was less than two years into his marriage to Laura Ziffren, who was eight months pregnant with their son at the time. On April 1, 2003, Wasserman wrote to Maxwell: “Where are you, I miss you. I will be in NYC for 4 days starting April 22… can we book that massage now?”
Two days later, Maxwell responded with suggestive remarks: “All that rubbing – are you sure you can take it?” She continued, “There are a few spots that apparently drive a man wild – I suppose I could practise them on you and you could let me know if they work or not?”
Maxwell often ended her messages with “Kisses,” while Wasserman signed off with “xoxo.” In one exchange, Wasserman mentioned Los Angeles’ foggy June weather, prompting Maxwell to reply: “What foggy enough so that you can float naked down the beach and no one can see you unless they are close up? Or something like that…”
During Maxwell’s trip to Paris, she offered: “Thought you might like to know I am now in Paris – can I bring you back anything from here?” Wasserman replied: “The only thing that I want from Paris is you.” Later discussions involved potential treats from London, with Maxwell asking: “Ok, so that combo did not do it for you, what combo would then?” Wasserman responded: “You, me, and not else much…”
Additional emails indicate arrangements for a flight from Los Angeles to New York. Photographs show Wasserman with Epstein and Maxwell near a private plane, and flight logs confirm the 2002 Africa trip for an HIV/AIDS charity event, which included passengers such as former President Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey, and Chris Tucker. This journey occurred before any criminal investigations into Epstein’s activities began, and there is no indication that Wasserman participated in any unlawful conduct.
Wasserman’s Professional Background
At 51, Wasserman heads a prominent talent agency representing artists like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Billie Eilish, the latter joining through the 2021 acquisition of Paradigm. He serves as chair of the LA 2028 Olympic organizing committee. His 50th birthday celebration in June 2024 drew high-profile attendees, including Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom, and Doug Emhoff.
These revelations come amid prior reports of Wasserman’s alleged personal relationships with staff members during his marriage. Sources have described instances of lavish gifts followed by abrupt endings to those connections. Specific allegations involved his former secretary, Patricia Feau, now employed by the LA28 nonprofit, and flight attendant Jenny Chandler, his current partner. Feau has denied any affair, and Wasserman previously dismissed such claims as unsubstantiated gossip, stating in a 2024 interview: “If [media] qualifies as reporting, then I guess we’re all in trouble. But we live in a day and age where people can say whatever they want without facts, without cooperation, without sources, and it’s the world we live in.”
