David Beckham shares a friendly photo with Hermès VIP executive Michael Coste, shortly after securing a $4.8 million profit from selling his Miami penthouse.
Beckham’s Lucrative Property Sale
The ex-footballer, 50, appears alongside Coste in an Instagram post from Tuesday. Beckham sports a denim jacket, jeans, and a warm hat, both smiling confidently. Coste, who joined Hermès in 2006 and earns the nickname ‘VIP Whisperer,’ captions the image: ‘Trying to look cool next to David Beckham. Still trying.’
Beckham purchased the condo in 2020 for $19.8 million through his company, Beckham Brand Limited. Recent transaction records show it sold for $24.6 million, yielding the substantial profit.
Located on the 59th floor of the 62-story One Thousand Museum tower—standing 215 meters tall—the penthouse features five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, a spacious balcony with Atlantic Ocean views, and Miami’s first private helipad. The late architect Zaha Hadid designed the luxury condo before her death in Miami in 2016.
The property served as a family base following Beckham’s launch of Inter Miami CF in 2018, with his four children frequently visiting.
Ongoing Family Tensions
Beckham and wife Victoria, 51, retain a $72.25 million mansion in Miami Beach, built in 2018. This estate overlooks Biscayne Bay and includes multiple bedrooms, four half-bathrooms, and a chef’s kitchen. It positions the family near eldest son Brooklyn, 26, who moved to the U.S. with wife Nicola Peltz, 31.
Relations have strained, however. Last month, Brooklyn issued a six-page statement disowning his parents, labeling them ‘controlling and manipulative’ and expressing no desire to reconcile. He accused them of attempting to undermine his marriage to Peltz.
Marc Anthony Addresses Wedding Claims
On Tuesday, singer Marc Anthony, 57—a longtime family friend and godfather to Beckham’s son Cruz, 20—responded to the feud. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he called the situation ‘extremely unfortunate’ but insisted the public narrative ‘is hardly the truth.’
‘I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. They’re a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m godfather to Cruz,’ Anthony stated. ‘I’m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out—but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth.’
Anthony performed at Brooklyn and Peltz’s 2022 wedding at her family’s $85.6 million, 44,000-square-foot Palm Beach estate, which spans 13 acres with 27 bedrooms, an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a guest house.
Brooklyn alleged his mother ‘hijacked’ his first dance with Peltz. He claimed Anthony called him onstage, then invited Victoria, leading to her dancing ‘very inappropriately’ on him, leaving him ‘uncomfortable or humiliated.’
DJ Fat Tony’s Wedding Account
Wedding DJ Fat Tony, a Beckham friend, described the incident: Anthony called Brooklyn onstage during his performance. Instead of Peltz joining for the first dance, Anthony requested ‘the most beautiful woman in the room’—Victoria. He instructed Brooklyn to ‘place your hands on your mother’s hips.’
‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action! The word ‘inappropriate’… it was the timing,’ Fat Tony explained. ‘Brooklyn looked devastated… Nicola left the room crying her eyes out.’
He noted Brooklyn’s hands on Victoria’s waist, her arms around his neck, before both bride and groom exited. ‘The timing was inappropriate… It was meant to be a bride and groom’s moment.’
Brooklyn and Peltz now reside luxuriously in Los Angeles, reportedly receiving a $1 million monthly allowance from her father, Nelson Peltz, 83.
