Aiava shares her frustrations in a candid Instagram post. “I want to say a ginormous f— you to everyone in the tennis community who’s ever made me feel less than,” she declares. She targets gamblers sending hate or death threats, social media trolls critiquing her body and career, and the sport’s hidden issues.

“Behind the white outfits and traditions is a culture that’s racist, misogynistic, homophobic and hostile to anyone who doesn’t fit the mould,” Aiava states. She emphasizes that the sport fails to welcome diverse individuals.

Currently ranked world No. 321, the Melbourne native advanced to the second round of the 2025 Australian Open.
