Tyra Banks Net Worth: $90M and New Life in Sydney Australia

Tyra Banks makes a triumphant return to her modeling roots through the Netflix docuseries Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model. The series explores the iconic competition she created, which spanned 24 seasons from 2003 to 2018. Banks openly addresses past controversies, including fat-shaming incidents, critiques of contestants’ appearances, and controversial race-swapping photoshoots.

ANTM Revival on the Horizon?

In the finale episode, Banks hints at exciting developments. She states: “After the show I had so many big ideas for my life. I’m obsessed with pivoting and I live in Australia now. I feel like my work is not done. You have no idea what we have planned for Cycle 25.” Fans eagerly await confirmation of the show’s potential 25th cycle.

Tyra Banks’ Net Worth

Estimates place Tyra Banks’ net worth at around $90 million. Born and raised in Inglewood, California, she launched her modeling career at age 15 with L.A. Models, quickly advancing to Elite Model Management. By 16, she relocated to Milan and dominated Paris Fashion Week in 1991 with 25 runway shows.

Her breakthroughs continued: a CoverGirl contract in 1993 blended commercial and high-fashion work. In 1996 and 1997, she made history as the first African-American on GQ‘s cover and the first Black woman on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover.

Embracing Life in Sydney

Banks relocated to Sydney, Australia, in late 2023, settling there with her family. She shares her son, York Banks Asla—born in January 2016—with ex-partner Erik Asla, and has been dating Louis Bélanger-Martin since 2018.

Her affection for Australia grew while expanding her ice cream venture, SMiZE and Dream. Sharing with Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY in April 2025, Banks explained: “I just fell in love with it,” adding: “I was like, ‘I’m happy here and they love to eat some ice cream, so, are we going to do this family?’ And we did.”

Among her favorite Sydney spots is Darling Harbour, eyed for a future ice cream store. Banks describes the project as a lifelong dream: “Making ice cream has been a lifelong dream of mine and it’s all happening right here in Australia. This idea is a tribute to my mama Carolyn.”
