Firefighters in northwest Calgary tackled a challenging water main break on Friday night amid icy, slippery conditions.
Incident Details
The break occurred along 19 Street and Constable Road N.W., prompting a response from fire crews around 8 p.m. On-site footage showed a steamy flood turning the area into a hazardous, wet surface.
Emergency Response
Crews quickly contained the water flow to the curb and directed it into a nearby storm sewer. City sanding teams arrived to address the slick roads and improve safety for responders.
Impact Assessment
Officials confirm no homes experienced flooding. The incident remains a localized problem, far smaller in scale than the previous Bearspaw feeder main rupture in the same region.
