Lady Violet Manners and her husband, Viscount Garnock, eagerly await their first child following their enchanting wedding at Belvoir Castle.

Exciting Family Announcement

The couple, who married in June 2025, shares the joyful news. “We are thrilled to share that we are expecting our first child. We are so grateful and excited for all that’s to come,” Lady Violet, 32, and William James Lindesay-Bethune, 35, state.

Lady Violet, eldest daughter of the 11th Duke and Duchess of Rutland, David and Emma Manners, got engaged to the Scottish aristocrat in summer 2024. She affectionately called him her “Caledonian Cowboy” in the announcement.

William, son and heir of the 16th Earl of Lindsay, divides his time between Scotland and Texas. He co-founded Feragaia, a brand specializing in low- and no-alcohol spirits.

Picture-Perfect Ceremony

The wedding took place on a sunny Saturday at St Mary the Virgin Church in Bottesford. Lady Violet stunned in a Phillipa Lepley couture gown featuring puffed sleeves, a sheer embroidered panel with stars and hearts, and a flowing veil. She wore the historic Rutland diamond tiara, a family heirloom over 300 years old, last seen publicly in the late 1990s when Lady Theresa Manners donned it for her 1997 wedding.

William embraced his heritage in a kilt of the red-and-green Lindsay family tartan, paired with a sporran, pale grey suit, and patterned tie. He arrived in style aboard a vintage red Routemaster double-decker bus with family and friends.

A piper led the bride into the church, honoring Scottish traditions. Lady Violet arrived in a closed carriage, accompanied by bridesmaids in elegant violet dresses adorned with matching flowers. Her sisters, Eliza and Alice, and friend Devisha Kumari Singh served as bridesmaids. Flower girls and page boys wore light green satin knickerbockers.

The newlyweds waved to guests en route back to Belvoir Castle, the 360-room estate where the Duke of Rutland’s ancestors have lived for nearly 1,000 years. The castle famously doubled as Windsor Castle in Netflix’s The Crown.

Family and Guests Celebrate

Parents from both sides beamed with joy. The Duke and Duchess of Rutland, along with the Earl and Countess of Lindsay, James and Diana Lindesay-Bethune, shared warm moments. Notably, the Duke and Countess of Lindsay entered the church together.

Duchess Emma Manners, 61, who faces breast cancer following a spring diagnosis, appeared graceful in a light pink jacquard coat-dress and tilted hat.

High society luminaries attended, including Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, Lady Sabrina Percy, and Flora Vesterberg, granddaughter of Princess Alexandra.
