Adrian Grenier has voiced enthusiasm for rumors of an Entourage reboot, while sharing mixed feelings about his exclusion from the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada sequel.

Interest in Reviving Entourage

The 49-year-old actor, known for portraying Vincent Chase, expressed eagerness to reprise his role in the satirical HBO series that aired from 2004 to 2011. “I would love to do the show again, obviously,” Grenier stated. However, he feels torn about remaking an iconic production. “I’m torn because it’s an iconic show that defined an era,” he added. “I don’t know how we would do that today, because we’d have to address a lot of things that are current.”

Grenier believes the update presents opportunities. “But that could… that’s an opportunity as well,” he noted. “I think it can’t be the same thing, because it was so tied to that time.” He emphasized the unique vibe of the original: “It’s a time and a moment and a vibe that I don’t think you can replicate.”

The series followed Vincent Chase and his entourage—Eric Murphy (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara), Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven), and Johnny ‘Drama’ Chase (Kevin Dillon)—through Hollywood highs and lows. Inspired by Mark Wahlberg’s career, Entourage earned multiple Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe awards during its eight-season run.

Grenier highlighted the timeless appeal of the characters in a modern context. “The characters, I think, are still relevant, and I think the way they would deal with modernity is interesting as well,” he said. He suggested creative twists, such as “Johnny Drama as an avatar… as an AI. There’s a lot of room for fun within those characters.”

He rallied fans for support: “Yeah, I want to do it. Are you gonna start a movement? Are we gonna get the fans to demand it? If the fans demand it, we have to do it. That’s just how it works.” Practical hurdles remain, including scripting and funding. “I think we need the script and we need the money,” Grenier explained. “That’s how it works. That’s just the biz. Maybe we ask AI.”

Disappointment Over Devil Wears Prada Sequel

Grenier also addressed his absence from The Devil Wears Prada 2, where Anne Hathaway reprises Andy Sachs alongside Meryl Streep. The trailer reveals Andy with a new love interest, replacing Grenier’s Nate Cooper from the 2006 hit.

“Obviously, it was a disappointment that I didn’t get the call to be in the sequel,” he admitted. Grenier attributes the decision partly to backlash against Nate’s actions in the original. “I also understand there’s some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it.”

Despite the snub, he stays positive. “We’re all fans of the movie, whether or not we’re in it,” Grenier said. “But I think that just leaves room for a spinoff. Either way, it’s a disappointment. Either way, it leaves room for a beautiful spinoff in which Nate has his own film.”
