Harry Wilson Shines in Fulham’s 3-1 Comeback Win Over Burnley

Fulham secured a dramatic 3-1 comeback victory against Burnley, with Harry Wilson delivering a standout performance that highlights his form during a pivotal contract year.

Wilson’s Stunning Strike Turns the Tide

Harry Wilson’s second-half goal in the 73rd minute propelled Fulham ahead, reigniting their push for European spots while pushing Burnley nearer to relegation. The 28-year-old Welsh international collected the ball wide on the right, cut inside along the penalty area edge, and unleashed a low left-footed drive through a crowded box past goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. Evoking Arjen Robben’s flair, the strike marked Wilson’s 10th goal of the season—many of exceptional quality and match-defining importance.

With his contract set to expire in June, Wilson’s prime-year surge—accounting for 10 of Fulham’s 43 goals—has attracted widespread interest. Fulham manager Marco Silva hailed his impact: “He’s been incredible. Top, top, top level. The best season of his career. Hopefully he can go and do something special for his country and come back full of confidence and we can see more goals from him in the last seven games.”

Match Goals and Key Moments

Burnley struck first through Zian Flemming’s eighth goal of the season. The Dutch midfielder timed his run perfectly, applying a clean first-time finish from Lyle Taylor’s low cross. Flemming, adapting seamlessly to Premier League demands, also earned a penalty early on—denied by Calvin Bassey’s block—and forced a strong save from Bernd Leno with a diving header.

Fulham leveled when 19-year-old Josh King netted his maiden Premier League goal. Sander Berge’s angled pass into the box led to chaos after Dubravka’s failed clearance; King reacted sharply to hook the ball into an empty net. This fortune followed a 203-day wait since a VAR-overturned goal against Chelsea, later deemed erroneous.

Raul Jimenez sealed the win from the penalty spot in stoppage time, his first goal since his father’s passing. Josh Laurent’s push from behind—denying a clear chance—earned a red card and suspension for Burnley’s next match against Brighton. Jimenez stuttered his run before rifling high past Dubravka.

Burnley squandered chances to equalize at 2-1, with Josh Laurent blocked by Timothy Castagne and Quilindschy Hartman denied by Leno. The Clarets have now conceded 61 goals in 31 games, the league’s worst record, signaling their likely drop.
