Cate Blanchett and Rachel Zegler celebrated their wins at the Standard Theatre Awards winners dinner at Claridges Hotel in London on Sunday.
Cate Blanchett’s Chic Ensemble
Aussie actress Cate Blanchett, 56, secured Best Actress in a Play for The Seagull. She embodied elegance in a black velvet sculpted bodice paired with a form-fitting pencil skirt. Pointed heels added extra height to her poised frame.
Rachel Zegler’s Daring Look
Rachel Zegler, 24, claimed Best Musical Performance for her lead role in Evita. She turned heads in a plunging lace gown that accentuated her figure, opting for a braless style and skipping jewelry to let the dress shine.
Hayley Atwell’s Rare Red Carpet Moment
Hayley Atwell, 43, who welcomed her first child with fiancé Ned Wolfgang Kelly in 2024, attended to support her nomination for Best Actress in a Play for Much Ado About Nothing. The couple made a rare public appearance together.
Hayley dazzled in a striking silver gown featuring a caped collar and floral embroidery, complemented by diamond earrings and sleek black heels. Ned complemented her in a sharp black suit over a crisp white shirt with a bolo tie.
The Couple’s Love Story
First linked in July 2022, the pair proposed in Venice in April 2023 before welcoming their child the following year. They maintain a low public profile.
Confirming the engagement, Ned shared: “Lucky me. Arrived in Venice at 10am, around midday the love of my life and I got engaged in the kitchen of this strange apartment surrounded by ducks, with a bloke outside the window murdering ‘My Way’ on the accordion. A perfect start to the rest of our lives together. I’d never had any interest in getting married… until I met this extraordinary woman. Happy as a clam.”
Hayley recalled the low-key proposal: “My fiancé was in his pants in the kitchen, and there was an accordion playing outside our window — which was timed perfectly but not planned. We had rented this Airbnb that had lots of shelves with porcelain ducks on them, so it was quite a surreal set-up. I said to him, ‘Venice was my first most precious destination,’ and I’ve always had a weird connection with it. So, he took me there, and it happened there.”
The London-based artist avoids animal products and has remained alcohol- and drug-free for over a decade. Sources note their strong chemistry: “Hayley’s happiness is written on her face right now. They get on like a house on fire and make a very handsome couple.”
Ned produces commercial music for brands like Bud Light, Headspace, and Samsung, scores films, contributes to design projects, and writes articles.
