Authorities arrested golf legend Tiger Woods, a 15-time major winner, for driving under the influence in Florida on Friday following a high-speed rollover crash on Jupiter Island.
Discovery of Pills During Search
Officers searched Woods and located two white pills marked ‘M367’ in the left pocket of his trousers. The pills tested positive as hydrocodone, a prescription opioid used to manage severe or chronic pain.
Physical Condition and Statements
Woods appeared sweating profusely with lethargic and slow movements. Officers observed his eyes as bloodshot and glassy, with extremely dilated pupils. When questioned about prescription medications, Woods responded, “I take a few.” He also stated that his cell phone and radio had distracted him prior to the crash.
Crash Details
The incident occurred when Woods attempted to overtake a truck and trailer at high speed, clipping the vehicle and causing his Range Rover SUV to tip onto its side. He exited through the passenger side after the rollover. Police took his mugshot following the arrest.
