Gogglebox star Amy Tapper, 26, recently showcased a glamorous makeover following her remarkable 8st weight loss achieved through Mounjaro and consistent exercise. She dropped from a size 26 to a size 18 and shared a radiant selfie while hosting a traditional Passover meal.

Amy styled her hair in loose curls, complemented by blusher and berry lipstick. She also posed with friends, captioning the photo: ‘My besties at my Seder.’

Amy joined the popular show at age 13 alongside her mother Nikki, 51, father Jonathan, 56, and brother Josh, 26. Doctors prescribed Mounjaro just as she considered gastric bypass surgery.

Challenges of Rapid Weight Loss

Despite her success, the significant weight reduction left Amy with loose skin requiring surgical correction. She explained: ‘Unfortunately and inevitably, when you’ve lost as much weight as eight stone, and there’s gonna be more, there’s a lot of skin that is just not gonna disappear with exercise. It’s not possible, you know? It’s stones and stones of fat and it’s now just skin. My arms and my tummy are definitely gonna need surgery at some point, but my legs are actually OK.’

She added jokingly: ‘These little side bad boys are really toning up.’

Consistent Fitness Routine

Facing accusations from online trolls of ‘cheating’ with the medication, Amy maintains a rigorous workout regimen. She has trained with the same personal trainer for five years and credits gym sessions with boosting her mental well-being. ‘I’ve been with the same personal trainer for five years. I love going to the gym anyway, just mentally, it makes the biggest difference to my week, and hand-in-hand with Mounjaro,’ she said.

Amy takes a 15mg weekly dose, starting from 2.5mg. She lost 5lbs in one week at peak and 4st over six months. ‘I’m still eating less and moving more, but I’m doing it hand-in-hand with the weight loss medication and it’s working as the most perfect pair,’ she noted.

Reclaiming ‘Eat Less, Move More’

Amy partners with online pharmacy Chemist4U to reclaim the phrase ‘eat less, move more’ amid new research showing 7 in 10 people on weight loss drugs feel judged. DJ Fat Tony created a house track titled ‘Already Doing It’ for the campaign, featuring Amy in the music video.

Facing Online Trolls

Amy shares her progress online, earning praise as an ‘inspiration’ but also facing trolls that impact her mental health. On Good Morning Britain last month, she shared emotionally: ‘I do think of myself as strong minded and whatever they say to me I can say a lot worse about myself. But of course it affects you. No one is super human and I can be strong and confident, but when I’ve put all this work in, I do just kind of have to laugh about it.’

‘The online trolls come in and it sort of affects your peacefulness in your head. This eat less move more, it’s put there as some sort of an insult. But if you’re doing that with the weight loss medication side by side, it’s the most perfect pair so I don’t know why it’s bothering anyone.’

She advised: ‘I think you’re doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t so why not just do it?’
