Jon Rahm affirms his determination to represent Europe in the upcoming Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, expressing strong confidence in resolving his ongoing dispute with the DP World Tour by September.
Path to Resolution
Rahm faces substantial fines in the seven figures for competing in LIV Golf events without prior approval from the DP World Tour, where he remains a member. He recently withdrew his appeal against these sanctions, placing him in default status and initially barring him from Ryder Cup eligibility. Rahm also rejected a proposed agreement that required participation in six specific DP World Tour events in exchange for clearance.
When asked about his prospects for the Adare Manor event, Rahm responded simply: “Yes.”
The 2023 Masters champion elaborated: “I didn’t think that going the legal route and going to court was good for anybody. I have faith in us and the DP World Tour, that we are going to find a good solution for both of us.”
He continued: “We keep talking to them and we keep trying to negotiate. I have given in quite a bit in a few things. We’re going to work it out. It’s going to work out. As of now, the DP World Tour is doing what they need to do and following the channels they need to follow but I’m confident this will be sorted out before I tee it up in September.”

Rahm’s timeline aligns with the Irish Open, scheduled at Doonbeg resort from September 9. He clarified uncertainty about any current ban on DP World Tour events but publicly listed several he wishes to join: the Irish Open, Wentworth, Spanish Open, Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, French Open, and Omega European Masters.
“I’m not planning to play until September,” Rahm explained. “So that’s a bit of a positive. If I were unable right now, it doesn’t matter since I’m not planning to tee it up until after August like I have done in my career.”
He added: “I do intend to continue to support the DP World Tour. I’ve been very thankful to be a member. I’ve been very thankful to support the Tour and play some wonderful events.”
