Katy Perry seeks good fortune by placing her credit card into Rome’s iconic Trevi Fountain. The 41-year-old singer shared a playful video on Instagram from her trip to Italy, standing before the landmark in a gray hoodie.
Trevi Fountain Tradition with a Twist
In the clip, Perry sings, ‘Someone give me a penny,’ before joking, ‘Y’all, I told you in “Save as Draft” that I don’t f**k with change.’ She references her song lyric about flipping coins despite avoiding change. Lacking coins, she drops her credit card into the fountain ‘for good luck,’ then quickly retrieves it. The post, captioned ‘Just Rome’ing around,’ includes photos and videos from her visit.
The Trevi Fountain, completed in 1762, attracts over 1,000 visitors hourly who toss coins for wishes.
Private Concert and Vatican Sights
Perry performed a private show Saturday at La Nuvola, showcasing toned arms and midriff in a glittering bandeau top and black silk pants. Her hair slicked into a chic bun, she sang her 2010 hit ‘The One That Got Away.’ A photo captures her backstage with her crew.
She also posed before St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, wearing a stylish black-and-white dress. Playfully, she sang ‘Pope Leo, hallelujah’ to honor the first American pontiff.
Family Moments from Afar
During her trip, Perry FaceTimed her five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, while bathing, covering her face with a shark emoji. She shares Daisy with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, 49; the couple split in 2025 after seven years.
Other shares include a marble bust and a humorous insect keychain.
Ongoing Australian Police Investigation
Perry faces scrutiny from Australian police over sexual assault allegations by actress Ruby Rose, 40, stemming from a 2010 incident at a Melbourne nightclub. Perry vehemently denies the claims.
A representative for Perry stated: ‘The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.’
A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed: ‘Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010. Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.’
