DJ Timmy Trumpet Announces Split from Wife Anett Tomcsanyi
Australian DJ Timmy Trumpet, whose real name is Timothy Jude Smith, confirms his separation from wife Anett Tomcsanyi after five years of marriage. The 43-year-old musician, known for his 2014 hit “Freaks” featuring Savage, shared the news on Instagram in March following online rumors.
“The last year of my life hasn’t been easy to talk about,” Timmy wrote. “Anett and I are no longer together. I’m sharing this because we shared so much of our lives with you. I proposed on a livestream, we stood on stages all around the world… I truly believed that was forever.”
He added, “Life doesn’t always go the way you expect. I won’t pretend it’s been easy. Some days have been harder than others. But I made a decision to keep going, to stay on the road and keep showing up. Over 150 shows across the world and in many ways, that’s what kept me moving forward.”
From Las Vegas Meeting to Lavish Budapest Wedding
Timmy first met Hungarian content creator Anett in 2011 at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. He proposed during a live music set in July 2020, dropping to one knee on stage as the crowd cheered. The moment streamed live on social media.
The couple married in a lavish ceremony in June 2022 at Budapest’s Fisherman’s Bastion, a UNESCO World Heritage site. They celebrated online, calling it “the greatest day of my life.”
Signs of Trouble and Recent Developments
Trouble surfaced in early 2025 as their social media interactions dwindled in February. They haven’t appeared together publicly in nearly a year. Timmy tours internationally solo, while Anett shares luxury trips with friends and photos of her new dachshund puppy, welcomed in April 2025 and dubbed “the next big chapter.”
That month marked the last time Anett wore her wedding band and diamond engagement ring. The pair no longer follow each other on social media or tag one another in posts. Anett’s final update came in early March, shortly before Timmy’s announcement.
At New Year’s, Anett posted a photo overlooking the ocean in Europe, captioning it: “2025, can’t wait to put you behind. What a tough & an emotional rollercoaster year this was. Still grateful for the lessons. Hopeful for the new year.”
New Music from a Personal Place
Timmy paused music releases amid the split but now reconnects through it as therapy. “All the music I release this year is coming from a real place,” he stated. “This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt sharing my music with the world. Through all of this, you guys have been the constant.”
His track “Freaks” sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S., earning gold certification, alongside 420,000 units in Australia and 45,000 in New Zealand. Timmy stands out by playing trumpet live, blending jazz into high-energy dance tracks.
