A dedicated Australian police officer and devoted father of two passed away at age 41 after a prolonged fight against bowel cancer. Morgan Spruce died on April 19, leaving behind his wife Emma and sons Darcy and Harvey.
Police Service Background
Morgan Spruce trained in class 331 and served with the Tuggerah Lakes command. He resigned from the force prior to his passing, spending quality time with his family in his final years.
Community Mourns Loss
Members of the NSW Fallen Police Facebook group shared heartfelt tributes. One poster confirmed his service details and battle with cancer, noting his survivors. “RIP Morgan. You were a genuine bloke,” another wrote, recalling his distinctive chuckle. A third member inquired about support from NSW Police Legacy, but learned the family does not qualify due to his resignation rather than on-duty death or medical retirement. Resources for grief support were recommended.
GoFundMe Raises Funds for Family
Friend Alex White launched a GoFundMe campaign on April 10 to rally support from Morgan and Emma’s communities. The page description states: “Following the devastating news of Morgan’s cancer diagnosis I have set up this as a central point for all of the different communities and supports in Morgan and Emma’s lives to be able to share their love and support.” Funds aim to assist the family, including young sons Darcy and Harvey, now and in the future. The effort has collected $8,835 so far.
