WWE legend Ric Flair discloses that officials barred him from WrestleMania 42 after he threatened to confront rookie wrestler Ludwig Kaiser for mocking his daughter Charlotte Flair’s divorces.
Details of the Confrontation
Flair, now 77, shared the details during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. The dispute stemmed from a segment about a year ago where Kaiser, real name Marcel Barthel and aged 35, joined his then-girlfriend Tiffany Stratton in taunting Charlotte Flair—WWE’s Ashley—over her three divorces. This ignited an onscreen rivalry leading into WrestleMania 41.
‘I didn’t get invited to WrestleMania this year,’ Flair stated. ‘I threatened to beat up Tiffany Stratton’s husband. A 24-year-old kid being threatened by a 76-year-old man—and I can’t go to WrestleMania? Are you kidding me?’
Flair’s Direct Threat
Flair obtained Kaiser’s contact information and called him directly. ‘Hey, when I see you, I’m gonna beat the s*** out of you,’ he recounted telling the wrestler. Kaiser reportedly informed WWE Chief Content Officer Hunter Hearst Helmsley, resulting in Flair’s exclusion from the event.
Flair dismissed Kaiser’s WWE prospects, calling him a ‘little punk’ and predicting he would fade into obscurity. ‘He’s gonna really go far in the business. A 76-year-old man telling a 24-year-old kid he’s gonna kick his a**, and where is he now? Is he even on the roster?’
Health Challenges During the Dispute
Around the same period, Flair faced a serious health scare with skin cancer. In June, he announced his second battle with the disease, later canceling a meet-and-greet and preparing for surgery. He shared images of sutures on his stomach and sought prayers from fans.
Three weeks later, Flair confirmed the operation’s success, posting from a medical facility with bandages on his forehead and left arm: ‘Thank You Academic Alliance In Dermatology! I’m Now Cancer Free! WOOOOO!’ Fans celebrated with comments like ‘Thank God!!!! Diamonds are forever, and so is Ric Flair’ and ‘To many more healthy years, Naitch!! WOOOO.’
