Man Utd Switches to (RED) Kit Sponsor for Brentford Clash

Published on

Manchester United will debut a special shirt sponsor for their Premier League match against Brentford tonight. The team swaps their regular Snapdragon branding for the (RED) charity, which focuses on combating AIDS and health injustices.

Sponsor Partnership Details

Qualcomm Technologies, owners of Snapdragon, collaborates with (RED) to leverage brand partnerships in the fight against pandemics. Manchester United will display the (RED) logo on their shirts during the home game at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s Chief Business Officer, Marc Armstrong, highlighted the initiative: “Through the power and innovation of our partnership with Snapdragon, we are proud to use the front of the famous Manchester United shirt to raise awareness and tell the story of the vital work undertaken by (RED) to fight against health injustice. Snapdragon shares our ambition to use football as a force for good, and the second year of this initiative underlines that aspiration, especially at a time when the world faces enormous challenges in supporting the most vulnerable in society.”

Qualcomm’s Chief Marketing Officer, Don McGuire, emphasized: “There’s no better cause to spotlight for Manchester United’s more than one billion fans than (RED) and its fight to end health injustice.”

Match-Worn Shirt Auction

After the game, authentic shirts worn by the starting XI and substitutes will go up for auction on MatchWornShirt until May 2. The platform specializes in signed and game-used apparel from professional athletes. Net proceeds will partly fund (RED)’s efforts against global health crises. Fans can bid at www.mws.com.

(RED)’s Managing Director, Kate Charles, noted: “This collection shows how purpose-driven partnerships can turn the power of sport into real-world impact. Each shirt tells a story from the pitch, while also helping to fund life-saving global health programs in communities where they are needed most.”

Founded in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver, (RED) has raised over £590 million for the Global Fund, aiding more than 350 million people.

Key Match Stakes

A win positions Manchester United three points clear of Liverpool and strengthens their Champions League qualification. They lead sixth-placed Brighton by eight points, despite Brighton’s extra game.

Brentford, currently ninth, could surge to sixth with a victory, trailing United, Liverpool, and Aston Villa—who all have 58 points—with four games remaining.

Carrick’s Strong Interim Spell

Discussions swirl around Manchester United’s next permanent manager. Interim boss Michael Carrick has impressed, securing victories over Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two matches. Reports indicate part-owner Jim Ratcliffe met secretly with Carrick.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes, a leading contender for PFA Player of the Year, shared his surprise on Wayne Rooney’s show: “When Michael came in, we never thought at this moment, we would be third.”
