Fans of Escape to the Country can book presenter Jules Hudson’s bespoke glamping retreat, Mole Hill Hut, nestled in rural Herefordshire for £150 per night.

Property Features and Design

This unique couples’ retreat offers luxury glamping for two, featuring a custom-built structure called The Trough. Equipped with a wood burner and cozy chairs, it emphasizes relaxation in a serene setting. No television distracts guests, allowing full immersion in the wholesome environment, though WiFi remains available.

Prime Location and Activities

Situated near Eaton Bishop on the edge of the Golden Valley in the Wye Valley, the hut provides easy access to outdoor pursuits. Guests enjoy walking, cycling, golf, canoeing, paddle boarding, and fishing. Nearby attractions include Hereford Cathedral and the Magna Carta. The region thrives with a vibrant food scene, highlighting local produce, Michelin-starred restaurants, and innovative gastropubs.

Booking and Pricing Details

The hut rents for £150 per night, with a 15% discount for stays longer than seven days. A three-night minimum applies, with check-in at 4 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m.

Guest Experience

Upon arrival, visitors park and transport luggage 160 meters via wheelbarrows through chickens, mature hedgerows, and wildflowers. A welcome pack awaits, stocked with granola, milk, bread, prosecco, and fresh eggs from the farm. Year-round amenities include two Dry Robe coats for chilly weather and locally sourced wood for the burner.

Jules Hudson describes the renovation as a family effort: “Bringing it all together was a genuine family affair, each one of us contributed to the final result and we are really proud to share it with those who are looking for an exclusive and private get-away.”

Additional Rental Option

Jules Hudson also offers No. 2 Deben Wharf, a boutique apartment on the River Deben in Suffolk. Featured in the Hollywood film The Dig with Ralph Fiennes, it sits near Woodbridge, ideal for a riverside city escape. This urban-style property rents for just over £200 per night with a two-night minimum.
