Celebrity Traitors Fans Predict Surprise Twist After Lineup Clue

Published on

Fans of Celebrity Traitors anticipate a major twist from host Claudia Winkleman after noticing a key detail in the season two lineup announcement.

Lineup Announcement Sparks Speculation

The BBC revealed 21 celebrities for the second season of the hit show, set to begin filming next week and air this autumn. Observers quickly noted that the standard UK civilian version features 22 contestants, while the inaugural celebrity edition had 19.

On Reddit, one fan questioned: ‘Only 21 cast members, a secret 22nd or a late drop-out?’ Others suggested possibilities like ‘bringing an early out from season 1 back as a surprise cast member like Paloma or Tom,’ or ‘Danny Dyer… thrown in like a grenade.’ Additional theories included Bob Mortimer’s involvement or a blank sign spotted in the promo video.

Star-Studded Cast Heads to Ardross Castle

The lineup includes Michael Sheen, Ross Kemp, Hannah Fry, Joanna McNally, Amol Rajan, James Acaster, Richard E. Grant, Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Sebastian Croft, and Sharon Rooney.

Teaser Trailer Features Playful Errors

The trailer, set in airport arrivals, shows contestants holding iconic roundtable chalkboards with their names. Many names appear misspelled for humor, such as ‘Rob Bucket’ for Rob Beckett, ‘Miranda Heart’ for Miranda Hart, and ‘Richardy Grant’ for Richard E. Grant. One board is held upside down, mimicking common roundtable mishaps.

The BBC shared the clip on Instagram, stating: ‘Host Claudia Winkleman will welcome an eclectic mix of people and personalities ranging from BAFTA and BRIT award winners through to social media stars. Plus some of the UK’s most cherished actors, comedians, presenters and beyond as the celebrities question who they can and can’t really trust, figure out who deserves to be banished and try to discover which of them is plotting murder under the cover of darkness.’

Last Season’s Success

The first celebrity series drew 11 million viewers, with Alan Carr defeating faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, and David Olusoga to win the £87,500 prize pot for charity.
