A 32-year-old man faces three murder charges following a brutal early-morning attack on his family in southwest Sydney’s Rosemeadow suburb. Authorities believe a hammer or similar blunt object caused the deaths of his parents and younger brother, with a second sibling surviving serious injuries.
Details of the Deadly Assault
The incident unfolded shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday at a home on Juliet Close. Jacky Feng allegedly assaulted his 65-year-old mother, 64-year-old father, 25-year-old brother, and 30-year-old brother. Emergency responders arrived to a grim scene, finding the mother receiving initial aid before discovering the father’s severe head injuries and the youngest son’s body in a rear granny flat.
Campbelltown Commander Superintendent Grant Healey described the response: “Police first encountered a 65-year-old woman and started doing first aid on her… police went inside the house and found a 64-year-old male who was still alive with serious blunt force head injuries. They found a male deceased in a granny flat at the rear of the premise.”
Charges and Arrest
Feng faces three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. The 30-year-old survivor contacted emergency services after the assault and received treatment at Liverpool Hospital before release. Investigators state Feng fled the scene but returned about an hour later as services swarmed the property. Officers arrested him upon arrival in a silver sedan.
He was denied bail and scheduled to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Monday.
Investigation Insights
Police suspect multiple weapons, including one delivering blunt force trauma and possibly a bladed instrument, but no firearms. Superintendent Healey noted the Asian-Australian family’s low police profile: “This is a very tragic incident, there was no way for us to predict this type of thing was going to occur. This is an incredibly rare incident and it’s incredibly tragic.”
Forensic teams processed the site into Sunday afternoon, using thermal imaging and removing evidence. A coroner’s van arrived around 2:35 p.m., transporting two bodies by 3 p.m.
Neighbor Reactions
Residents expressed shock, describing the family as keeping to themselves. One neighbor recalled frequent ambulance visits in the past year. Another heard noises around 1:30 a.m., mistaking them for a car chase, followed by emergency vehicles and the silver sedan’s return, where a man reportedly raised his hands to approaching police.
