Apple Martin, the 21-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow, bears a striking resemblance to her mother in a recent Instagram photo. She posed in a red triangle bikini with friends inside a car, wearing a seatbelt, just days after completing her college studies.
Graduation Milestone
Apple recently modeled her cap and gown ahead of Vanderbilt University’s commencement ceremonies, held May 7–8, 2026, with the main undergraduate event on May 8 at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. She described the occasion as “a bittersweet moment” on Instagram.
Her mother, Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, expressed her joy by commenting, “SO proud!!” Apple began her studies at Vanderbilt in 2022, majoring in Law, History, and Society. The annual tuition reaches $67,000.
Theater Passion and Career Moves
Apple pursues theater through Vanderbilt Original Cast and has directed student productions. She secured representation with top agency CAA and landed modeling campaigns for The Gap and Self-Portrait.
In an Interview Magazine feature, Apple shared her love for theater: “I would love to do theater because I adore it so much. I’ve obviously never done film before, but I’ve been trying to get involved in student films. I was born a theater kid.”
She told Vogue about shifting away from earlier law school plans: “I was in that rebellious ‘I don’t wanna be like my parents’ type of phase.” Apple also ruled out a singing career like her father, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, whose divorce from Paltrow finalized in 2016. “I don’t wanna be a singer,” she said. “I like musical theater, but getting onstage by yourself to sing is so terrifying. I love dancing and I love acting. My dream is to act.”
Addressing Rumors
Apple previously made headlines over false claims of expulsion for bullying, which she denied on Instagram: “Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand. I have never been expelled from any school, especially not for bullying anyone. I completely understand ppl not liking me and that is okay! The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions. But this rumor is completely untrue, I am not that type of person and anyone who is close to me knows that.”
Paltrow publicly announced Apple’s college start in 2022, noting the emotional challenge of the farewell.
