A young boy was rushed to the hospital after becoming trapped under a train at North Melbourne Railway Station this afternoon.
Emergency Response
Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the station around 4 p.m. following reports of the incident. The boy, estimated to be 11 or 12 years old, had been struck by the train and pinned beneath a carriage for an extended period.
Rescue Efforts
Rescue teams worked between two carriages to free the child, while others prepared a stretcher on the platform. Aerial footage captured the intense operation amid the busy station environment.
Rail Disruptions
The incident unfolded as Melbourne’s rail network ramped up for afternoon peak hours. Multiple services on the Williamstown and Werribee lines were canceled to facilitate the rescue.
