Comedian Pete Davidson, 32, shared a startling childhood anecdote during a recent private stand-up performance. He described how his grandfather discovered him watching a gay porn video at age eight.

The Bizarre Childhood Discovery

Davidson explained that he accidentally clicked on a graphic video showing ‘six 70-year-old men’ engaged in sexual acts set to the Andy Griffith theme song. ‘I watched the whole thing because I was eight, and I was wondering, “What happens?”‘ he told the audience, whistling the tune for effect.

His grandfather returned from a Knights of Columbus outing and demanded to know what was on the screen. Davidson recalled the exchange: ‘He gets downstairs. After seeing the content, his grandfather punched the screen, shattering the computer, before turning away and declaring, ‘Peter, we are never to speak of this.’

Davidson grew up with a single mother after his father, New York City firefighter Scott Davidson, perished in the September 11 attacks. He has spoken previously about his grandfathers. He maintains a close bond with his paternal grandfather, Stephen Davidson, who appeared in his 2020 film The King of Staten Island.

In another stand-up set nearly a year ago, Davidson discussed his maternal grandfather, whom he accused of physical abuse. ‘He used to beat the s*** out of me, and I don’t like him very much,’ he stated.
