Netflix confirms that The Lincoln Lawyer wraps up with its fifth season. The legal drama, starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, has thrived on the platform for four years and enters production on its final chapter.
Showrunners Promise a Fitting Finale
Co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez shared their vision for the conclusion. “All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us,” they stated. “From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion. And while it is, of course, bittersweet, it’s also an amazing opportunity to bring this adventure to a close and perhaps chart a new course for some of our characters into the future.”
Humphrey and Rodriguez added: “We promise you, we are right now building a final season that will provide the satisfying finale Mickey Haller deserves. We can’t wait to share it with you!”
Story and Inspiration
Adapted from Michael Connelly’s novels, the series follows attorney Mickey Haller, played by Garcia-Rulfo, who operates from the back seat of his Lincoln. Connelly’s concept also powered the 2011 film starring Matthew McConaughey.
Season 5 Plot and Cast
The upcoming season draws from Connelly’s seventh book, Resurrection Walk. Cobie Smulders joins as Mickey’s long-lost half-sister, seeking his aid to exonerate a wrongfully convicted woman.
Returning cast includes Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson, alongside recurring stars Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Marie, and Gigi Zumbado. New additions feature Amy Aquino, Angela Trimbur, Elpidia Carrillo, Nate Corddry, Tricia Helfer, and Keir O’Donnell.
Viewership Triumph and Timeline
Netflix greenlit season five a week before season four’s February premiere. The latest season charted four weeks in the global top 10 English series, amassing over 26.4 million views.
A premiere date for the 10-episode finale remains unannounced.
