Hillary Clinton’s White House Criticism Sparks Scandal Backlash

Published on

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton has faced a strong backlash after criticizing President Donald Trump’s handling of the White House, with critics pointing to her own past controversies during her time residing in the executive mansion.

Clinton’s Social Media Critique

On Friday, Clinton took to social media to comment on the erection of a temporary Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) arena on the White House grounds. The arena is being set up for the upcoming Freedom 250 festival, scheduled to begin on June 14. This event is taking place amidst ongoing renovations at the East Wing, where the president is overseeing the construction of a new ballroom and other security enhancements.

‘This is what Trump’s done to the people’s house: A third of it is rubble. Another third is a cage match. What a metaphor,’ Clinton posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Social Media Users Revisit Clinton Scandals

However, social media users quickly reminded Clinton of renovations and controversies during her own time in the White House with former President Bill Clinton. Reports indicate that the couple undertook significant renovations, reportedly costing $400,000, which were funded by private donors.

Further scrutiny arose in 2001 when the Clintons faced accusations of taking approximately $28,000 worth of furniture from the presidential residence. The items were eventually returned, with the Clintons stating they believed they were entitled to keep them as gifts. Additionally, analysis from the U.S. Government Accountability Office alleged that aides to the Clintons were responsible for vandalism within the White House during the transition to the George W. Bush administration.

Reactions from Social Media

Commenters on X responded to Clinton’s post with pointed remarks. One user wrote, ‘Hillary maybe you shouldn’t go there.’ Another highlighted past incidents, stating, ‘White House damage by Clinton aides (2001 transition) $13,000 – $15,000 + ($30,000 in 2026). Hillary throwing White House objects at Bill. The Clintons tried to haul off $28,000 + ($58,000 in 2026) of White House furniture back to Arkansas.’

Another commenter quipped, ‘Look what Hillary Clinton’s husband, President Bill Clinton, did to the White House. You and your husband stole furniture that you had to return.’ A different user suggested, ‘Donald Trump is making the White House better. Maybe learn from him.’

One post alluded to past political challenges for Clinton, stating, ‘To be fair, Hillary Clinton definitely knows rubble when she sees it. Her presidential ambitions went down hard, crashing into a massive pile of rubble, thanks to the current White House occupant.’

The discussion also brought up the Monica Lewinsky scandal, with one user remarking, ‘Her husband porked somebody in the freaking Oval Office, then she stole tons of furniture when they left that they were forced to give back. She can kindly STFU.’

Comments Disabled Amidst Backlash

In response to the significant backlash, Clinton reportedly disabled comments on her post. This action itself drew further criticism, with one user writing, ‘Hillary Clinton turns off comments are criticizing one of the hottest sports in America. She joins the Governor of New Mexico in making it clear that the Democrats don’t want the support of real men.’

UFC Event Sparks Mixed Reactions

The UFC event planned for the White House has generated a range of reactions, with some expressing dissatisfaction regarding the perceived politicization of the sport. President Trump announced the UFC fight as part of the celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary, which also coincides with his birthday.

Veteran fight commentator Joe Rogan voiced his reservations about the event on his podcast. Rogan stated, ‘Well, it’s on the birthday of America. I mean, it’s the 250th birthday of America. What better place to celebrate it than the White House.’ However, Rogan also expressed concerns about holding the mixed martial arts bouts outdoors, citing potential issues such as insects and intense summer heat. He suggested, ‘It should be inside an air-conditioned arena. It should be a controlled environment.’

The Freedom 250 event is scheduled to coincide with Flag Day and President Trump’s 80th birthday.
