Police Probe ‘Serious’ Head Injuries in Infant
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding “serious” head injuries sustained by a nine-week-old baby on the Sunshine Coast earlier this year. The incident occurred in Currimundi.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the infant boy was brought to Sunshine Coast University Hospital around 11:00 PM on April 24th, having sustained the injuries at his Currimundi residence. The baby was subsequently admitted to the intensive care unit and has since survived the ordeal.
Detectives are presently working to determine the precise cause of the head trauma. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance, urging anyone who was in the Currimundi area on the night of April 24th and may possess information pertinent to the investigation to come forward.
Further comment on the ongoing inquiry has been declined by police at this time.
