Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman’s Son Share Affectionate Outing in New York

Actor Adrien Brody demonstrated a warm, paternal connection with his girlfriend Georgina Chapman’s son during a recent public appearance in New York City. On Tuesday, the 53-year-old Oscar winner was observed holding hands with 13-year-old Dashiell as they navigated errands through Manhattan.

Chapman, who co-parents Dashiell and his 15-year-old sister India with her former husband, Harvey Weinstein, was not present for the outing. This display of affection follows comments made earlier this year by Weinstein, a convicted sex offender, regarding his feelings about another man raising his children.

Weinstein recently experienced a legal development when a judge declared a third mistrial in his ongoing rape trial in New York on May 15. This decision came after a previous overturning of his convictions by the New York Supreme Court. Despite these proceedings, Weinstein remains incarcerated, serving sentences related to separate convictions in California and New York.

A Casual Day Out in the City

Brody and Dashiell appeared relaxed and casually dressed for their day. The actor, known for his role in ‘The Brutalist,’ wore a navy T-shirt with subtle stripes, matching sweatpants, and distinctive black-and-white Christian Dior sneakers. He accessorized with a black trucker hat featuring a white emblem, dark square-frame sunglasses, and what appeared to be a rolled-down neck gaiter.

Brody, who was seen with a brace on his right hand and forearm, held hands with Dashiell. The teenager sported a white and blue graphic T-shirt depicting New York City, paired with baggy jeans and black shoes accented by pale pink laces.

Brody’s Evolving Role in Children’s Lives

Just the day prior, Brody and Chapman were seen in New York, accompanying Dashiell to game three of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.

In March, Weinstein reportedly shared his perspective on Brody’s fatherly involvement with his children while Weinstein is imprisoned. He is currently serving a 16-year sentence at New York’s Rikers Island following his conviction on sex crime charges in California in 2022.

Chapman, 50, separated from Weinstein in 2017 after a decade of marriage, following widespread allegations of sexual harassment and abuse that surfaced in a significant reports The New York Times. Chapman began dating Brody in 2019, and he has since become a significant figure in the lives of her children.

Weinstein’s Stance on Brody’s Involvement

While Brody generally maintains a private relationship with Dashiell and India, he revealed last year during his Oscars acceptance speech that Chapman’s children affectionately call him ‘Popsy.’

In a recent interview, Weinstein expressed his contentment with Brody’s role in his children’s lives. When questioned about his reaction to Brody mentioning his children during the Oscars, Weinstein stated, “No! I was happy. It’s good that my kids have someone in their lives.” He also added, “And Georgina suffered terribly because of me. I’m glad she’s finally found some happiness.””

Although Chapman is no longer in communication with Weinstein, he claimed that she still permits him to see their children. Weinstein also commented on Chapman and her luxury fashion label, Marchesa, being negatively impacted by Hollywood following the allegations against him nearly a decade ago. He noted that many prominent actresses, who had previously worn his ex-wife’s designs, ceased doing so in the aftermath.

Weinstein further stated, “I am sorry she got such a bad rap. She knew nothing about what I was doing. I was a master of deception. To punish her company is an act of insanity.”

This is not the first instance of Weinstein commenting on Brody’s relationship with Chapman or his presence in his children’s lives. A representative for Weinstein previously provided a statement following Brody’s Oscars speech. While accepting the Best Actor award for ‘The Brutalist’ at the 2025 ceremony, Brody acknowledged Chapman and her children, saying, “I share this with my amazing partner Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth but my sense of value and my values and her beautiful children, Dash and India.” He also revealed the nickname, adding, “It’s been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Popsy’s coming home a winner.””

Weinstein’s representative confirmed at the time that “Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be.”

Weinstein’s Legal and Health Status

Weinstein, once a powerful figure in Hollywood, became a prominent symbol of sexual misconduct following media reports of allegations against him in 2017. Approximately 60 women have come forward with accusations. He has been convicted of various sex crimes in both New York and California, though he denies any wrongdoing.

He is currently awaiting a third trial in Manhattan later this year to address a remaining rape charge from his 2025 New York retrial. Weinstein is reportedly dealing with significant health issues, including cancer, diabetes, spinal stenosis, and a potential immune system disorder.

The Evolution of Chapman’s Relationships

Prior to meeting Brody in 2019, sources indicated that Chapman was in a difficult period following the dissolution of her marriage to Weinstein. She and Brody first met at an event in Puerto Rico in April 2019. According to reports, Chapman attended after friends encouraged her to “get out of the house” after isolating herself amid the fallout from the Weinstein allegations.

The two reportedly connected and began dating a few months later. Now, after more than five years together, sources suggest that Chapman and Brody have provided mutual support through various challenges. Their relationship is described as being “much more different” than her previous marriage to Weinstein, with Chapman and Brody feeling more like partners.
