Tennis Star Lleyton and Bec Hewitt List Sydney Estate
Tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt and his wife, former actress Bec Hewitt, are reportedly seeking a significant return on their investment with the listing of their expansive Sydney property. The couple has placed their Glenhaven estate, located in Sydney’s Hills District, on the market with a guide price of $14 million.
The celebrity couple acquired the sprawling property, which spans approximately two hectares, just three years ago. Records indicate the purchase price in 2023 was $10.3 million. The estate was previously owned by former rugby league player Nathan Hindmarsh and his wife, Bonnie, an interior designer.
A Premier Property with Elite Amenities
The six-bedroom, four-bathroom residence has undergone a significant transformation, evolving into a sophisticated coastal-inspired retreat. Under the previous ownership, the original brick home was reimagined, and the Hewitts have since added their own refinements.
Notable enhancements include professional resurfacing of the championship-sized tennis court, carried out by the same company responsible for preparing courts at the Australian Open. The grounds have also seen extensive landscaping improvements.
The estate, accessed via secure electric gates, offers a luxurious single-level living experience. Soaring vaulted ceilings and expansive open-plan living areas define the interior. The heart of the home is a designer kitchen featuring a large stone island bench, a breakfast bar, and a butler’s pantry.
Further amenities include a wine cellar, multiple indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces, a home gym, a guest cottage, and a mudroom. The outdoor area is designed for resort-style living, complete with a swimming pool, two paddocks, and a large barn equipped with a removable sprung dance floor.
A History of Property Ventures
This sale continues a pattern of significant real estate activity for the high-profile couple. After relocating from Sydney in 2016, the Hewitts resided in Melbourne’s Toorak, where they purchased a mansion for $12.7 million, later selling it for $15.2 million in 2022.
Their return to Sydney saw them acquire the Glenhaven estate, which has served as their family base. The Hewitts have also previously owned properties on the Gold Coast and a weekender in Palm Beach.
Lleyton and Bec Hewitt have been married since 2005 and are parents to daughters Mia, 20, Ava, 15, and son Cruz, 17. They first met at a charity tennis match in 1999 and reconnected in 2005 before marrying at the Sydney Opera House.
Following their marriage, the family lived in the Bahamas for a period, having purchased a villa in the Old Fort Bay estate. They permanently returned to Australia in 2016.
