Tess Daly made a striking appearance at the opening day of Wimbledon, continuing to wear her wedding and engagement rings weeks after announcing her separation from Vernon Kay. The 57-year-old television presenter joined a host of celebrities who embraced the traditional ‘tennis whites’ theme for the prestigious event.
Celebrity Style on Day One of Wimbledon
Daly, known for her role on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, showcased a sophisticated look in a white lace gown. She arrived at the All England Club with her business partner and friend, Gayle Lawton. The duo, who co-own a swimwear brand, presented a united front as they navigated the event.
Amanda Holden also turned heads with her fashion choice, opting for a chic pinstriped two-piece ensemble. The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge added a touch of playful style to the day.
Other notable attendees included opera singer Katherine Jenkins, 46, who also opted for a white outfit, a common choice on the tournament’s opening day. Pixie Lott sported a thigh-skimming mini dress, while Katherine Ryan was seen with her husband, Bobby Koostra, who embraced the tennis-themed attire.
Social media buzzed with pre-event excitement as Isla Fisher and Maura Higgins shared glimpses of their preparations. Fisher was accompanied by her brother, and Higgins showcased her Chanel accessories, which featured a quirky tennis theme.
Tess Daly and Vernon Kay’s Separation
Daly’s decision to continue wearing her wedding and engagement rings comes after she and Vernon Kay, 52, announced their separation in May. The couple, who had been married for 23 years, issued a joint statement revealing their mutual decision to part ways.
The statement read: “After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire of what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time. We will not be making any further public comments.”
Despite the announcement, sources indicated that both Daly and Kay were still residing at their marital home in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, at the time of the statement. The couple shares two daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.
Daly and Kay, whose combined wealth is estimated to be around £10 million, were last seen together publicly in February when they co-hosted an episode of ‘The One Show’.
