Christine and Frank Lampard’s French Riviera Family Holiday

Published on

Television presenter Christine Lampard and her husband, former footballer Frank Lampard, are enjoying a sun-drenched family holiday in the South of France. The couple, accompanied by their children, have been spotted soaking up the atmosphere at the iconic Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, a destination they have frequented for many years.

A Lavish Getaway in Antibes

The Lampard family is spending their summer break at the prestigious Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, known for its luxurious ambiance and stunning Mediterranean views. The hotel, which commands rates of approximately £2,000 per night, has been a favoured retreat for Christine and Frank since 2015, the year they married. This year’s visit sees them treating their two young children, Patricia (7) and Freddie (5), to a memorable holiday experience.

During their stay, Christine showcased her signature effortless style. She was seen in a chic black minidress, complemented by black Gucci summer wedges and classic Chanel sunglasses, as she headed out for lunch. Frank, meanwhile, opted for a more casual look, sporting blue swimming shorts and a white T-shirt.

Thrill-Seeking Moments and Family Life

Amidst the relaxation, Frank embraced the adventurous spirit of the French Riviera with a daring cliff jump from the hotel’s well-known diving board. This moment of exhilaration offered a cool respite after a morning of sunbathing. The family’s holiday unfolds against a backdrop of significant events in the region, with wildfires prompting evacuations in parts of France and Spain.

Christine Lampard’s Fitness Philosophy

Away from the holiday glamour, Christine Lampard has previously shared insights into her approach to maintaining her fitness. Contrary to popular belief, she revealed that her slim figure is not primarily a result of rigorous gym sessions. Instead, she champions the concept of Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, or NEAT.

NEAT encompasses the energy expended on all daily activities outside of structured exercise. This includes seemingly mundane tasks such as cooking, carrying groceries, gardening, playing with children, and even simple actions like getting up for a cup of tea. Christine emphasizes the importance of consistent movement throughout the day, highlighting walking as a key component of her active lifestyle, whether it’s a stroll to the shops, the train station, or with her dogs.

Speaking about her routine, Christine stated, “I don’t go to the gym but I’m always moving and I think that keeps me fit. Frank is very good with gym stuff but I find that general activeness and not sitting around for too long is pretty good for me.” She further elaborated on her commitment to staying active, mentioning her early mornings preparing breakfast and lunch for her children, walking them to school, and engaging in household chores, all contributing to her daily step count without dedicated gym time.

While she admits to being “very lazy when it comes to exercise” in a previous TikTok video, Christine reiterated her reliance on walking: “I walk and I walk.” Although she has expressed an interest in trying Pilates, the demands of her schedule have so far prevented her from finding the time.

Christine believes that walking is the “absolute perfect exercise” for her, providing cardiovascular benefits and contributing to overall fitness. She advocates for consistency and moderate activity over infrequent, high-intensity workouts.

Dietary Habits for Well-being

Christine Lampard also shared details about her dietary habits, adhering to a principle of eating progressively lighter meals throughout the day: starting with a substantial breakfast, a moderate lunch, and a lighter dinner. Her typical breakfast includes tomatoes on toast with grilled bacon and two poached eggs. For lunch, she often opts for a jacket potato with cheese, while her dinners vary, featuring dishes like homemade chicken and mushroom pie or a traditional Sunday roast.

Snacking involves choices like hummus and carrot sticks, focusing on fibre-rich foods for sustained energy. Reflecting on post-indulgent periods, such as holidays or Christmas, Christine explained her strategy: “If I have been away eating and drinking for a while, like at Christmas, I just try and eat healthy when I am back to get back in shape.” She avoids drastic dietary restrictions, preferring to make healthier substitutions, such as opting for a sweet potato instead of a regular one, and limiting carbohydrate intake in the evenings to prevent bloating.

The Lampard family’s holiday in the South of France combines relaxation, family time, and a touch of adventure, with Christine continuing to prioritize a balanced and active lifestyle even while on vacation.
