Paris Jackson marked the release of her second studio album, Happiest Day of My Life, with a celebratory launch party held this past weekend at the Velocity Black Residence in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old model and actress was surrounded by family and a host of notable friends for the event, which honored her latest musical offering.

The album’s release party saw Jackson joined by several members of her famous family, including her aunt LaToya Jackson and brother Prince Jackson. Happiest Day of My Life follows her debut album, Wilted, released in 2020. For the launch event, Paris Jackson embraced a bohemian aesthetic, wearing a cream lace slip dress paired with soft khaki suede boots. Her wavy blonde hair was left down, completing the relaxed yet stylish look.

Insights into the New Album
During the event, Paris Jackson spoke with Miles The DJ from KROQ about the inspiration behind Happiest Day of My Life. She described the album as an exploration of an “inner angsty teen that never really went away,” explaining that she aimed to create music that this younger version of herself would find appealing. While acknowledging her folk roots and singer-songwriter inclinations, Jackson indicated that this album ventures into a different sonic territory.
Jackson elaborated on her desire to experiment with various production styles, aiming for a sound that is “more abrasive” and intentionally “doesn’t sound pretty.” This marks a departure from more conventional or conventionally pleasing musical aesthetics.
Collaboration with Linda Perry
A significant creative partner on the album was producer Linda Perry. Jackson highlighted their collaborative process, noting that much of their work involved “straight up co-writing.” She praised Perry’s “gift for melody,” explaining that Perry often provided taglines and melodic frameworks, while Jackson focused on crafting the lyrics, which she considers her favorite aspect of songwriting.
Paris Jackson shared that Perry encouraged her to be more specific in her lyrical content. “A lot of it would be like she’d either come up with a tagline and most of the melodies, and then I would write all the lyrics, cause that’s my favorite part of what I do is words,” Jackson stated. She added that Perry urged her to move away from the vagueness she sometimes employs, pushing her to articulate her experiences more directly.
Vas J Morgan, who was also present, shared his enthusiasm for the album on Instagram, calling the event “the happiest day of my life” and encouraging his followers to listen. He described the record as a “masterpiece.”
