I’m just delighted really, I was really looking forward to this season with her after last year. Looking ahead to potential Group One engagements, Rodriguez was optimistic. “Hopefully she will on her next start, she’s a very talented filly and she says very well. She loves cut in the ground and she’s put it all together today. She gave me a good feel up the straight.”
Trainer Owen Burrows echoed Rodriguez’s sentiments, highlighting Waardah’s preference for softer ground. “We haven’t seen a lot of her because she does appreciate a little bit juice in the ground,” Burrows explained. He referenced her strong run at Carlisle against the Group One filly Estraze, and her narrow defeat at Goodwood on faster conditions. “I was pretty hopeful coming here today and she’s done it well.”
Burrows also commented on the tactical aspect of the race. “I was pleased the hood was on today when she jumped as well as she did because it wasn’t quite the plan to be that handy but obviously nothing that Callum could do but she got in a nice rhythm and two out I was pretty confident.”

Discussions about Waardah’s future racing plans indicate a strong possibility of a trip to France for the Prix de Royallieu on Arc weekend. “She’s in the fillies’ race in France on Arc weekend (Prix de Royallieu) so I’d say that would probably be her next target,” Burrows stated. He indicated that performance in that race would dictate whether they would consider the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot on Champions Day.
Following her victory in the Park Hill Stakes, bookmakers revised Waardah’s odds for the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes. Paddy Power and Sky Bet shortened her price to 5/1 from 8/1 for the Group One contest scheduled for next month.
