Heidi Klum Honors German Heritage at Munich’s HeidiFest

Published on

Heidi Klum recently embraced her German heritage by attending HeidiFest in Munich, a vibrant celebration that ushers in the annual Oktoberfest festivities. The supermodel was joined by her husband, Tom Kaulitz, and several of her children, marking a significant family gathering in her homeland. The event, held at the renowned Hofbrauhaus beer hall, saw the family dressed in traditional Bavarian attire, showcasing a blend of cultural pride and personal style.

Heidi Klum’s Traditional Bavarian Ensemble

Heidi Klum, 53, captivated attendees with her choice of a striking yellow floral dirndl. This traditional Bavarian dress featured a low-cut neckline, a detailed lace-up bodice, and a full apron skirt, all adorned with a cheerful floral pattern. She complemented the ensemble with a matching flower wreath adorning her blonde hair, which cascaded over her shoulders, and a pair of elegant yellow heels. The ensemble was a clear nod to her German roots, presented with her signature flair.

Family Joins in Traditional Festivities

The HeidiFest celebration was a family affair, with Heidi’s husband, Tom Kaulitz, and her children Leni Klum and Henry Samuel, along with her mother, Erna Klum, all participating. Tom Kaulitz, 37, embraced the Bavarian theme by wearing distressed olive-brown lederhosen, paired with a light blue shirt and a matching vest. His look was completed with traditional knee-high grey wool socks. The couple, married since 2019, were observed sharing affectionate moments during the festivities.

Heidi’s mother, Erna Klum, added a splash of color with a vivid red dress, also accessorized with a matching wreath and boots. Henry Samuel, 21, opted for a traditional outfit similar to his stepfather’s, though he chose to wear his socks rolled down. Leni Klum, 22, presented a charming look in a baby blue dress, featuring a coordinating blue apron. Notably, she paired her traditional dress with UGG slippers, adding a casual and comfortable touch to her outfit.

Family Background and Recent Celebrations

Heidi Klum is a mother to four children. Leni, her eldest, was born from her relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore. Henry, along with his siblings Johan (19) and Lou (16), are her children with former husband, the British musician Seal. Seal officially adopted Leni in 2009. Klum and Seal were married from 2005 to 2014.

The HeidiFest celebration followed closely on the heels of another significant family event: Henry’s 21st birthday on September 12. To commemorate the milestone, Klum surprised her son with a high-performance red Ferrari F430. She shared a video on Instagram documenting the moment she presented the luxury vehicle, capturing Henry’s astonished reaction. The car, valued at over $200,000, was a grand gesture to celebrate her son.

The Ferrari Gift: A Promise Fulfilled

The extravagant gift of the Ferrari was revealed to be the fulfillment of a long-standing promise. In a video shared by Klum, she explained that the gift stemmed from a bet made years prior between Henry and his stepfather, Tom Kaulitz. The wager, made when Henry was a teenager, involved a video game, Mario Kart. The terms stipulated that if Henry lost, he would be banned from playing video games for three months and would have to paint a picture of himself driving. However, if he won, Kaulitz would gift him a Ferrari upon turning 21. Kaulitz reportedly purchased the car the previous year and had been keeping it hidden in their garage until Henry’s birthday.

Klum expressed her delight that her husband had kept his word, highlighting the significance of the promise made years ago. The bet’s details, shared in the video, added a personal and humorous layer to the extravagant gift, underscoring the playful dynamic within the family.

HeidiFest: A Prelude to Oktoberfest

HeidiFest serves as an early kickoff to the world-famous Oktoberfest, one of Germany’s most iconic cultural events. The festival, held at the historic Hofbrauhaus in Munich, attracts a lively crowd and features traditional Bavarian music, food, and, of course, beer. Klum’s decision to host and celebrate HeidiFest in Munich underscores her deep connection to her German heritage and her desire to share these traditions with her family.

The event provided a picturesque setting for the family to come together, celebrate their roots, and enjoy each other’s company. The sight of the family, dressed in traditional attire and participating in the festive atmosphere, offered a warm glimpse into their personal lives and their appreciation for cultural heritage. The gathering at HeidiFest highlighted not only the start of a major cultural celebration but also the enduring bonds within the Klum-Kaulitz family.
