The extensive search for Matt Brown, a prominent figure from the reality television series Alaskan Bush People, has concluded with the heartbreaking confirmation of his death. Brown, aged 43, was discovered deceased on Saturday. His brother, Bear Brown, shared the somber news via a TikTok video, stating that a body had been recovered from a river in northern Washington state earlier that day.
Subsequent confirmations identified the deceased as Matt Brown. His brother Noah reportedly assisted law enforcement in retrieving his body from the water. Bear Brown suggested that the death may have been a suicide, noting a wound on his brother’s body that appeared to be self-inflicted. While the specific location and severity of the wound were not disclosed, Bear expressed his shock, stating he never anticipated his brother would harm himself.
Battling Addiction and Personal Struggles
Bear Brown detailed his brother’s long-standing battle with drug and alcohol addiction. He shared his persistent concerns about the possibility of an overdose, admitting that he had not anticipated his brother would resort to self-harm. The coroner reportedly permitted family members, including Bear, to view Matt Brown’s body after its recovery from the river.
Matt Brown was a familiar face on Alaskan Bush People, appearing alongside his family from 2014 to 2018. His disappearance days prior to the discovery had initiated a widespread search effort.
