Anne Hathaway Flaunts Baby Bump in NYC, Addresses Pregnancy Rumors

Published on

Actress Anne Hathaway, 43, was recently spotted in New York City, showcasing a prominent baby bump as she prepares to welcome her third child. The sighting comes after the star addressed and debunked online speculation that she might be faking her pregnancy.

Hathaway’s New York City Stroll

On a recent Monday, Hathaway was seen out and about in Manhattan, looking every bit ready to welcome her new arrival. Dressed casually, she wore a simple white t-shirt that highlighted her advanced pregnancy, paired with black high-waisted pants and chunky sneakers. To maintain a low profile, she accessorized with sunglasses and a baseball cap, staying close to her bodyguard during the outing. The actress, who announced her pregnancy in June, has been married to Adam Shulman since 2012, and the couple are already parents to two sons, Jonathan and Jack.

Addressing Pregnancy Doubts

The public appearance followed a period where Hathaway faced unfounded rumors suggesting she was fabricating her pregnancy. Critics had claimed her baby bump appeared artificial during a red carpet event for her film, ‘The End of Oak Street’. Hathaway directly addressed these claims with a firm rebuttal on Instagram. She posted, “Fake hair, real bump,” alongside a playful comment about her outfit struggling with the heat, effectively shutting down the baseless speculation.

A Busy Year for Hathaway

Beyond her personal life, Anne Hathaway has had an exceptionally productive professional year. Fans have affectionately dubbed her the ‘enemy of unemployment’ due to her extensive filmography in 2024. This year alone, she has starred in multiple projects, including ‘Mother Mary’, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, ‘The Odyssey’, and ‘The End of Oak Street’. Her upcoming film, ‘Verity’, is slated for release next month.

Hathaway announced her third pregnancy in June, coinciding with the press tour for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’. She shared the joyful news via an Instagram reel, set to the song ‘Baby, I’m Yours’ by Barbara Lewis, offering fans a glimpse of her growing belly.

Reflections on Motherhood and Pregnancy

Speaking about the experience of becoming pregnant in her 40s, Hathaway shared candid thoughts with Access Hollywood. She described the process as one with “very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low,” acknowledging the statistical odds. “There’s always hope until there’s not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like one percent to two percent,” she explained. The couple decided to let nature take its course, embracing whatever outcome life offered.

Hathaway expressed profound gratitude for her current pregnancy. “We’re overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it – sometimes not ever,” she told People magazine in April. “I know that not everybody who wants to be a parent gets to be. I’m just blown away by how fortunate I am.” She also reflected on her previous pregnancies, noting, “It went really well for me twice, and that’s really lucky.”

Upcoming Film: ‘Verity’

As Hathaway prepares for the arrival of her new baby, her latest film, ‘Verity’, is also nearing its release. The psychosexual thriller, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, is set to premiere in theaters in less than three weeks. Directed by Michael Showalter and adapted by Nick Antosca, the film stars Hathaway as Verity Crawford, a successful thriller writer. The plot centers on Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete Verity’s final books after Verity suffers a mysterious accident. While working at the couple’s estate, Lowen uncovers an unfinished manuscript that hints at dark secrets surrounding Verity and her husband, Jeremy. Lowen must navigate whether the manuscript’s contents are fictional or a genuine warning from a dangerous individual. The film also features Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, with Hartnett playing the role of Jeremy. ‘Verity’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 2.

Hathaway’s career continues to flourish alongside her growing family, with a slate of diverse projects demonstrating her enduring appeal in Hollywood.
