Arnold Schwarzenegger stepped out for a low-key date night with his longtime girlfriend, Heather Milligan, at Nobu Malibu. The 78-year-old actor and fitness icon, who typically keeps his relationship private, dined at the upscale Japanese restaurant before heading home together.
Intimate Evening Out
The couple, together for over a decade, rarely appears in public. On Tuesday, they emerged after a five-star dinner. Schwarzenegger wore a gray jacket over a black sweater and blue jeans. Milligan complemented the casual vibe in a white blazer with gold buttons, a white top, and black pants.
Relationship Origins
Schwarzenegger met Milligan, a 51-year-old physical therapist, in 2012 while recovering from shoulder surgery ahead of filming the heist thriller Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone. His surgeon recommended her, noting she excels with athletes.
Schwarzenegger recalled, “I said, ‘I got to go do this movie, and I bring a lot of punches, and I have fights with Sly, and I want to have my act together.'” After therapy and the film wrapped, he invited her to lunch as thanks. “One thing led to the next,” he added. They have dated ever since.
He praises her shared interests and drive: “We have so many things in common. I think the world of her. I love that she’s into working. She’s clearly independent. She just is driven as hell.”
Heather Milligan’s Career
Milligan founded and owns Elite OrthoSport Physical Therapy & Performance, a leading clinic on Los Angeles’ West Side. She holds an MBA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, boasts 20 years as a physical therapist, and competed as a gymnast for 20 years. Her team delivers top-tier, personalized care to athletes and patients.
Past Marriage
Schwarzenegger ended his 25-year marriage to journalist Maria Shriver amid a public scandal involving an affair with their nanny, Mildred Baena, resulting in son Joseph Baena. The divorce finalized in 2021, a decade after Shriver filed.
