Beabadoobee releases her latest single, All I Did Was Dream Of You, featuring The Marías. This dreamy track serves as her first original release following the 2024 album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, which topped the UK charts.
The new song arrives after Beabadoobee’s recent cover of Elliott Smith’s Say Yes for the War Child charity compilation Help(2).
Video Draws from Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia
The accompanying music video draws inspiration from Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2025 black comedy thriller Bugonia, starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Aidan Delbis. Beabadoobee shares that the film’s final scene sparked the concept after she and her boyfriend became obsessed with Lanthimos’ work.
She collaborated with María Zardoya of The Marías on the track, praising her beautiful vocals and encouragement, though Zardoya could not appear in the video.
Beabadoobee filmed the visuals with her boyfriend and his friend Lucas from Lithuania amid extreme cold of -17°C on a frozen lake near Vilnius. “It was crazy, but it looks so beautiful,” she recalls.
A Bridge to Future Releases
Beabadoobee describes the single as “a nice bridge to the next thing I want to release.” She expresses eagerness: “I literally can’t wait to release something – I’m dying.”
After taking time away to focus on real life and friendships, she approaches her music with greater integrity. “If I don’t think a song is perfect, I’m not going to put it out,” she states. “I need to stop caring about what other people think.”
The video was co-directed by longtime collaborator Jake Erland and Lithuanian director AboveGround, with shooting in and around Vilnius in January.
From This Is How Tomorrow Moves, Beabadoobee’s track Take A Bite recently featured on the Scream 7 soundtrack.
