Actor’s Remarkable Physical Evolution Sparks Online Buzz
Actor Brandon Sklenar, known for his roles in prominent projects like It Ends With Us and the series 1923, has captivated audiences with a striking physical transformation that has left many fans in awe. Resurfaced images and clips from earlier in his career highlight a dramatic shift from his more youthful appearance to his current muscular physique.
A particular point of discussion is a clip promoting the 2018 film Mapplethorpe, where Sklenar portrayed Edward Mapplethorpe, the younger brother of the renowned photographer. In the footage, the actor sports a noticeably more slender, baby-faced look. This stark contrast to his present-day toned and athletic build has prompted widespread surprise among followers.
Fan Reactions to the ‘Glow Up’
Social media platforms have been abuzz with comments from fans reacting to the actor’s evolution. Expressions of disbelief and admiration are common, with remarks such as, “What a transformation, look at him now,” and “Wait, is that actually the same person or did he absorb another man?” Another user commented, “He truly beefed up.” Some have questioned the timeline of the changes, with one individual writing, “There’s absolutely no way that’s the same person. How far apart are the pictures?”
Dedication to Fitness and Training
Sklenar’s rigorous workout and diet regimen are a significant factor behind his physical changes. His trainer, Wesley Wilson, previously shared insights into the actor’s intense preparation for major roles. A social media post from 2025 showcased Sklenar’s impressive physique, with Wilson detailing the actor’s commitment.
“Training one of my best friends for his biggest role yet has been a f***ing blast,” Wilson captioned the post, emphasizing the months of consistent effort. “We pushed through the hard days and maximized the good. This is the result of showing up day after day for months and months.” The demanding routine reportedly involved over two hours of daily exercise and a diet rich in protein, including substantial amounts of elk and salmon.
An Actor Who Embroys Physicality
Sklenar has often spoken about his passion for physical activity and his preference for performing his own stunts. In an interview with Sydney Sweeney for Interview Magazine, he revealed that he handled most of his own stunts in the American neo-Western drama series 1923.
“I love using my body. I’m really good at it,” Sklenar stated. “I grew up fighting and doing construction. If I don’t use my body in some way, I feel pretty underutilized.” His approach to fitness prioritizes functional strength, as he previously shared with Men’s Active Magazine, training to ensure his body could meet the demanding physical requirements of his roles.
Navigating On-Screen Controversy
Last year, Sklenar found himself in the spotlight amidst a legal dispute surrounding the film It Ends With Us. Following legal actions involving co-star Blake Lively, a significant number of documents were unsealed, including communications between Sklenar and Lively.
Sklenar, who played Lively’s on-screen love interest Atlas Corrigan, spoke out in December 2025 about the online taunts he received after sharing a public statement urging for kindness during the unfolding drama. “I wasn’t damning anybody, but I was just like, ‘Can we focus on the ethos of this whole f**king movie and not be so hateful to anybody?’ I thought it was a nice thing to say, but apparently a lot of people did not feel that way,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. He recounted receiving abusive messages such as, “‘You’re a piece of s**t,’ ‘I hope you die,’ ‘I hope your career ends,’ things like that.”
The legal proceedings involved accusations of sexual harassment, retaliatory conduct, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Lawsuits were filed and subsequently dismissed, with settlements eventually reached between the parties involved.
