Center Parcs visitors cherish memories of wave pools, forest adventures, and family activities like teddy bear crafting and roller skating. However, parents face a significant change as the company discontinues its crèche service across all five UK resorts by the end of May.
Details of the Discontinued Service
The crèche accommodated children aged three months to three years for sessions up to three hours at approximately £30 each. Customers with bookings after May can no longer reserve spots, and the option has vanished from all UK sites.
Parents express disappointment, noting the service enabled couple time or relief for grandparents. One parent shared in a Center Parcs Facebook group: ‘I had planned to book a much needed child free trip to the spa with my husband and planned to put the children in the kids clubs and our 2 year old in the crèche so we could go together.’
Official Reasons and Alternatives
A Center Parcs spokesperson stated: ‘We’re always looking to review and evolve the guest experience. We have made the decision to remove the crèche activity from our breaks, to reflect guest feedback and limited demand for this particular activity. Crèche sessions are one of more than 20 activities available within our Activity Den and our other activities will continue to run as normal.’
The company develops new activities for children of all ages but provided no further details.
Recent Check-in Changes
Center Parcs introduced staggered arrival times in September 2025 to reduce congestion. Check-in slots vary by accommodation:
- Treehouses (premium with hot tub, games room, sauna): from 1pm
- Exclusive Lodges: from 2pm
- Forest Lodges, Hotels, Apartments: from 3pm
- Woodland Lodges: from 4pm
Guests can purchase early arrival packages for extended access.
Expansion to Sixth UK Site
Center Parcs plans a new resort in the Scottish Borders, north of Hawick and south of Selkirk—about 90 minutes from Edinburgh and Newcastle, or two hours from Glasgow. The site features 700 self-catering family lodges, a Subtropical Swimming Paradise, and children’s play areas. Construction started last month, with an opening targeted for 2029.
