Renowned chef Colin Fassnidge, 52, fires back at online critics who targeted his appearance, calling out their attacks on his ‘greasy hair,’ age, and weight in a profanity-laced video rant.
Fassnidge’s Fiery Response to Critics
The My Kitchen Rules star, who recently locked out of his Facebook account and regained access, unleashed on what he described as ‘middle-aged privileged white people who are just nasty and bored.’ Filmed during a walk, Fassnidge appeared fit with a touch of gray in his black beard.
He quoted the harsh comments directly: ‘Jesus, “your hair’s greasy, you’re fat, you’re looking old.”‘ Trolls also slammed his partnership with Manu Feildel on the Channel Seven travel series Off the Grid with Colin and Manu, prompting him to retort: ‘”The show’s sh*t, you’re sh*t, your food sh*t.” Mate, some of these people need a good dentist and a bit of moisturiser.’
Wave of Support Amid Backlash
Fassnidge’s video garnered 194,000 views since Tuesday. Fans rallied with messages like ‘You are the best,’ ‘Love you! Love your cooking! And you look amazing!’ and ‘F**k ’em, mate.’ Some detractors persisted, with one mocking: ‘Your hair’s greasy, and you’re just s**t lol… Grumpy old fart.’
Recent Legal Challenges
This outburst follows Fassnidge’s November 8 charge for driving under the influence of cocaine. Police from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command tested him at 3:20 p.m. on Malabar Road in South Maroubra, where his gray ute tested positive.
In court last month, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge condemned his use of illicit substances, noting their community impact. She stated: ‘You’ve got a lot to lose and when you lose, so does everyone else who’s invested in you.’ Milledge opted against a conviction, imposing a two-year good behaviour bond, aware of effects on his life and family.
This marks his second such offense, after a 2022 fine. Fassnidge, married to Jane Hyland since 2006, shares daughters Lily and Maeve.
