De Minaur Tops Boulter in Hilarious Miami Driving Duel

Tennis stars Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter, the recently engaged power couple, squared off in a fun driving challenge on the streets of Miami ahead of the city’s Formula 1 Grand Prix on May 1.

Go-Kart Style Showdown

A video circulating on social media captures the 27-year-old Australian and his 29-year-old British fiancée navigating go-kart-style vehicles through a custom course. Competitors raced to complete the track, then leaped out to grab tennis racquets and strike balls set up as targets.

The finale required precise maneuvering around a slalom of cones. Boulter struggled spectacularly, knocking over several obstacles, while de Minaur glided through effortlessly to claim victory.

De Minaur presented Boulter with a mock trophy, quipping, ‘You’ve officially won this trophy for the most reckless drive we’ve ever witnessed.’

Wedding Tease at Australian Open

This lighthearted rivalry follows a recent on-court exchange at the Australian Open. After de Minaur’s round-four victory, U.S. tennis legend Jim Courier congratulated him on the engagement and probed his role in wedding preparations.

‘We all know how much you want the big wins, but you already locked in a huge win this year,’ Courier remarked. ‘You and your fiancée are getting married this year. Congratulations to you and Katie. How involved are you planning to be in this wedding planning, or are you gonna leave it to Katie?’

De Minaur shot back, ‘Are you doubting me, Jim?’ Courier replied, ‘I’m definitely doubting you.’

De Minaur countered, ‘This is like a 50/50 relationship, right?’ Courier joked, ‘You’ve not been married. You don’t know. You’re about to become a 49 percent shareholder of a really great company.’

De Minaur shared insights into their planning: ‘Honestly, the fact that we’re both tennis players and we both have a busy schedule, we are doing as much as we can together. I’m sure when it comes to the details of napkins and flowers and decoration purposes, that’s not my forte. I’ll leave that for Katie.’

The couple, together for several years, announced their engagement late last year.
