Doja Cat Rapper Debate Rages On

On Aug. 9, X consumer playeration shared an opinion in regards to the ongoing debate about whether or not Doja must be thought of a hip-hop artist.

“Hopefully after Doja drops pop disco album of the century her followers can cease attempting to pressure her into feminine rap conversations,” they posted. “She’s a singer who raps typically. That doesn’t make her a rapper. If she is a rapper then so is Beyoncé.”

“You may’t be taken severely as a rapper with out ever prioritizing bars, punchlines, wordplay, and storytelling: the very issues that make rap what it’s,” they added.

Doja Cat Responds

After getting wind of the tweet, Doja pushed again towards the perspective on X, on Sunday (Aug. 10).

“You may proceed to repeat and paste this idea however the fact is is I do inform tales, use punchlines repeatedly, and prioritize wordplay regularly,” Doja typed. “That is what rapping is by definition. You agreed that I rap. If I rap on 95% of my music what does that imply in your thoughts?”

This isn’t the primary time Doja has had to reply to her rap credentials being known as into query. Again in 2021, she clapped again at individuals who claimed she shouldn’t be a hip-hop artist.
