Downtown Regina Ends Coin Parking, Switches to PayByPhone March 1

Published on

Drivers in downtown Regina must switch to digital payments for parking starting March 1, as the city eliminates coin-operated meters.

Transition to Cashless System

The City of Regina installs instructional bags over existing meters this weekend to block coin payments and guide users to the new process. Posted time limits and other regulations stay in place, and drivers still need to pay even when meters are covered.

Available Payment Methods

Residents pay for parking through the PayByPhone app, the website at PayByPhone.com, or by calling 1-888-680-7275.

Budget-Driven Efficiency Move

City officials approved the shift to digital options during 2026-27 budget discussions to streamline parking services.
