Drake Faces Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over ‘What Did I Miss?

Drake has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit over his music video for the observe “What Did I Miss?”

On Wednesday (Nov. 12), photographer Gabriele Galimberti sued Drizzy in United States District Courtroom for the Central District of California. The lawsuit accuses the OVO head honcho of “willful, brazen and intensive illegal infringement.” Galimberti alleges Drake infringed upon a photograph in his portrait collection The Ameriguns, which exhibits a household in a pool that’s surrounded by numerous firearms.

Drake’s “What Did I Miss?” music video includes a comparable scene exhibiting the Canadian rap star rapping the lyrics to the track whereas standing poolside surrounded by a number of weapons.

“With out the consent of Plaintiff, and with out his information, Defendants infringed upon his rights by creating a complete music video scene that includes an unauthorized copy of the Unique Work within the Infringing Video,” the submitting reads. “Defendants’ actions have precipitated vital hurt to Plaintiff and the Unique Work, thereby considerably damaging the worth of the Unique Work, all the Plaintiff’s different works, and the worth of any licenses for his images within the related markets.”

Drake launched the music video for “What Did I Miss?” on July 6 as a part of his Iceman YouTube collection. The track is anticipated to be a single from his upcoming Iceman album.

Galimberti is asking for a jury trial and looking for unspecified damages.
