Recent footage highlights former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall sparring with Hughie Fury, cousin of his upcoming opponent Tommy Fury. The pair prepares for a high-profile ‘Beauty vs. The Beast’ bout on June 13, promising another memorable cross-sport showdown.
Fighters’ Backgrounds
Eddie Hall, 38, has shifted from strongman competitions to boxing. His last professional bout came in 2022 against rival Hafthor Bjornsson, ending in a unanimous decision loss.
Tommy Fury, 26 and half-brother to boxing star Tyson Fury, boasts an undefeated 11-0 professional record, including four knockouts. His standout wins include decisions over YouTuber-boxers Jake Paul and KSI, despite their experience gap.
Striking Weight Disparity
The matchup draws attention for its massive weight difference: Fury at 208 pounds versus Hall’s 335 pounds. Both share an 80-inch reach, though Hall stands taller at 6 feet 3 inches.
Decade-Old Sparring Session
The resurfaced video, captured nearly 10 years ago, shows Hughie Fury training with Hall ahead of his heavyweight title clash with Joseph Parker. Hughie shared on Facebook at the time: “What better way to train for a world title fight than to have Britain and World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall into the gym for a spar.”
In the grainy clip, Hughie deftly moves around the ring, dodging Hall’s powerful swings. He noted that Hall “hits hard,” even as he controlled the session.
Hall later commented: “I wouldn’t mess with Tyson Fury in 100 years. I had a sparring bout with Tyson’s cousin, Hughie Fury, and he only hit me two or three times within a minute and I wanted to get the f*** out of the ring. When you go up against a professional boxer, even getting hit with a slight jab is like being hit full on in the face by a normal person.”
Fans eagerly await how Hall handles Tommy Fury’s professional punches on fight night.
